Teenage couple commit suicide (Photos/Video)

A teenage couple from Cincinnati, Ohio have committed suicide just days apart and it turns out they left suicide notes and a video on social media before carrying out the act. 

18-year-old Mercedes Shaday Smith and 17-year-old Markeice "Mari" Brown had been known as a couple, so when Mercedes killed herself in her dorm room at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky last Thrusday, her friends believed Mari contributed to his girlfriend's suicide so they harrassed him online because of it. The harrassment, along with the grief of losing Mercedes, drove Mari to take his life on Saturday.

Mari shared a note and a farewell video on Facebook Live before committing suicide. It can be gleaned from Mari's suicide note that Mercedes was pregnant at the time of her death and they had plans to "go out together.". He also revealed in the note that her family would not let him go to her funeral so he decided to go and see her in the afterlife.

Twerking woman causes major road accident

A woman's public dance display resulted in an accident when a biker lost concentration while watching her dance moves and drove into an oncoming car. The video starts with a Caucasian woman getting in position to begin dancing while her friend filmed her. She did a bit of warm up first before she started twerking.

Thankfully, the biker survived the accident. In the clip shot in Ukraine, the wounded biker was seen lying limp in the road.  He sustained a broken pelvis and leg, but nothing life threatening.

Wizkid's "Come Closer" video beats Afro-Beat Records

The hugely anticipated video for Wizkid's collaboration with Drake  "Come Closer" was released, after the initial lick of the audio a few months back which made the single to be pulled back by Sony records.

Fans also buzzed for the official release of the video and audio even though it had been licked.

The audio was released and video followed up a few days after. fans were unhappy with the absence of drake in the music video and his lack of acknowledgment of the single.  however, Drake shared the cover art of the single  on his Instagram page congratulating Wizkid on the release of his single.

Chance The Rapper’s Fans Want Him To Become Chance The Mayor

In 2015, Chance the Rapper dropped these bars on the song “Somewhere in Paradise”: “They say I’m savin’ my city, say I’m stayin’ for good / They screamin’ ‘Chano for mayor,’ I’m thinkin’ maybe I should.” Now, two years later, a group of fans have launched a campaign called Chano4Mayor2k19 urging the Chicago native to run for office in his hometown.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the fans behind chano4mayor.com want the rapper to run in 2019 against incumbent Rahm Emanuel, who’s won the past two elections. On the website, the group writes, “We think if you ran, you would win. And if you won, you would do a good ass job. ... You’d send a message that Chicago is ready for a new generation of leadership.”

The group cites Chance’s charitable donations to the city’s school system, his community work, and his overall attitude about improving the city as reasons why he’s the man for the job. The MC has yet to respond, and it seems like a pretty far-fetched idea, but it’d be foolish to doubt his passionate fans — or Chance himself, for that matter.

A Nigerian girl who studies  abroad has decided to prank her mother to celebrate April Fools day.

 Tina, went above and beyond to prank her Nigerian mother by sending a message to her via Whatsapp.

She told her Nigerian mother she has a one-year-old to prank her for April Fool’s day

In the message she told her mother that she has a child and the baby was now a year old. She expressed that she could not inform her parents before because she did not want to terminate the child.

She said her baby girl’s name is Grace named after her grandmother.

 Her mother, however, failed to disappoint as she replied just like any Nigerian parent would have replied at that moment.

Talented Teen Actress and Producer Esther-Whyte Bassey gets featured on BBC

Esther-Whyte Bassey, is a young talented writer/actress from Calabar (Cross River State).

Out of the many teenagers making a positive name for themselves in the city, Esther-Whyte happens to attract the minds of many with her great writing skills and acting as well.

Her latest work ERA OF ERRORS which came out on the 4th December 2016, is a short film written by her. It shows the bad lifestyles of most teenagers and it repercussions in city.

Esther-Whyte is also a very friendly person with a brilliant mind, always doing something different.

 I asked her what inspires her and she responded--  What's inspiring me to write scripts is reality... I am a realistic writer and I have a lot of strong realistic stories to share, either by selling it or producing it visually. I can't just waste my creative abilities, so, I decided to start writing movie scripts.

 With the help of CALLYWOOD her work is now breaking through internationally. BBC Africa had a chance to sit with EstherWhyte and a group of young actors and actresses.

Manchester United’s record buy, Paul Pogba, has returned to training, ahead of their next Premier League fixture against Everton at Old Trafford.

Pogba has been out for the past two-and-a-half weeks with a hamstring strain, but he joined his team-mates in a session following their 0-0 draw with West Brom on Saturday.

Also among those involved in the five-a-side game, were Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera, both of whom will be available for Tuesday’s game against Ronald Koeman’s men.

Captain Wayne Rooney, who made his return from injury as a 74th-minute substitute against West Brom, was also involved in the kickabout, watched by United manager Jose Mourinho.

Pogba is likely to make his return against the Toffees, as United look to salvage their top-four hopes after another setback in the Premier League.

Migos, Rae Sremmurd forced to cancel concert due to overcrowding at University of Southern California

Unruly students forced Migos to end a University of Southern California concert early Saturday night.

The hip-hop group made it through just one song at the school’s annual Springfest concert before the Los Angeles Fire Department cancelled the gig due to overcrowding, officials said.

Members of Migos even warned the audience to stop pushing each other before the concert ended, according to the Daily Trojan.

A student along the front-lines said she saw concert-goers fainting.

“People just started passing out in my friend’s arms and suffocating,” Grecia Vega told the school paper. “We were trying to get people’s attention — no one was paying attention.”

D.C. United finally breaks the ice, gets first goals and first win over Union, 2-1

At 7:25 p.m. Saturday, 17 minutes 23 seconds into D.C. United’s fourth match of the MLS season, Jose Guillermo Ortiz’s deflected shot took flight in the south end of RFK Stadium and, to the relief of an exasperated team and its impatient supporters, floated over the Philadelphia goalkeeper and settled into the net.

For the first time since last fall, United had scored a goal – a drought of 287-plus minutes since launching a campaign full of hope and wonder.

Luciano Acosta added a penalty kick before the half expired, and United endured extreme pressure in the last 25 minutes to secure a 2-1 victory over the Union before an announced crowd of 14,560.

“It weighs on your mind a lot,” midfielder Patrick Nyarko said. “We just wanted to get through it because of our struggles early in the year.”

Caller Warned Pickup ‘All Over the Road’ Before Deadly Church Bus Crash

An anxious witness called to alert Texas police that a driver was swerving recklessly through traffic Wednesday before the pickup truck plowed head-on into a passenger bus, killing 13 church members, recordings of 911 calls revealed Friday. 

"I don't know if he's drunk or what the deal is, but somebody needs to stop him, check him," a driver named Jody told an emergency operator just after noon. Over the course of a two-minute call, the worried driver told the operator at least three times that someone needed to intervene immediately. "Call somebody quick," he urged, "before he hits somebody." The operator said she would send a deputy to the area. 

Less than 20 minutes later, a driver later identified as Jack Dillon Young, 20, crossed the center line and plowed into a church bus, according to accounts by Texas authorities. Only Young and one of the 14 people on the bus survived. The crash is still under investigation.
