Bought my dad a Christmas gift and surprised him. He's had a hard life. This one felt good. My dad, Rocky Johnson is a minimalist. Always has been. Never asks me for much and over the years his needs are always the barest. Crazy story, my dad's dad died when he was 13yrs old. That Christmas, my dad's mom had her new boyfriend over for Christmas dinner. Her boyfriend got drunk and pissed on the turkey. My dad went outside, got a shovel, drew a line in the snow and said if you cross that line I'll kill you. The drunk crossed it and my dad laid him out cold as a block of ice. Cops were called. They told my dad's mom that when her boyfriend regains consciousness, he's gonna kill your son so one of them has got to go. In front of the entire family, my dad's mom looked at him and said get out. He was 13yrs old and now homeless. That f*cked up true story happened in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1954. He needed the bare minimum then, just like does now. Over the years, I've moved him into a big home, got him trucks to drive - which he'll literally drive into the ground until I get him something else. Hell, I'll get him anything he wants, but the SOB just won't ask;). Every Christmas, I always think about that story and my dad having every odd stacked against him at 13, but he fought thru it and still made something of himself. Makes me appreciate his struggle and hard work. Also, makes me appreciate the fun times he would beat my ass in the gym so bad when I was 13 and say "If you're gonna throw up, go outside.. and if you're gonna cry, then go home to your mother". I hated it then, but I embrace it now. Made a man outta me. Without pissing on my turkey. 😂👍🏾. Just a small way of saying thank you dad and Merry Christmas! #DwantaClaus🎅🏾

Police make 50 arrests after raid on Nigerian drug ring in Vienna, Austria

Police in Vienna on Thursday, December 29th, arrested 50 people in connection with a Nigerian drug ring which operated in the Austrian capital. Investigators said they had been on the trail of the gang for the past three years, and that in that time it has netted a profit of over €6 million. 21 kilos of illegal drugs, mainly cocaine and heroin, were seized during the raids.
However, police told a press conference on Friday that the gang would probably cut the drugs with other substances to increase the amount that could be sold on the street to around 100 kilos. The drugs were mainly sold in Vienna by Nigerian dealers. Detective Georg Rabensteiner said that 100 kilos of drugs would "cover" demand in Vienna for a few months.

Nigerian man choked to death by South African police during drug raid

A Nigerian man named Tochukwu Nnadi was choked to death by police in South Africa on Thursday December 29th after he was arrested for allegedly selling drugs. According to eyewitnesses, the man, popularly known as King Kingsley, was not struggling after he was arrested and handcuffed but one of the officers held onto his neck and squeezed tightly until blood started gushing out. His body was later removed.

If you're an urban driver, you probably feel lucky after hitting two green lights in a row.

But on December 3, New York Uber driver Noah Forman hit not one or two in a row, but 236.

His interest in beating the traffic system started in 2014 when he saw a video of a driver hitting 55 straight green lights.

"I just thought I could totally beat that," Foreman told CNN. "After a few years of driving, you notice a pattern."

Foreman had been driving a Yellow Cab since 2005 and gained notoriety in 2014 when he posted a video of himself hitting more than 100 lights in a row to YouTube.

Iran jails twelve fashion bloggers and social media models for 'spreading prostitution and a Western-style culture of nudity'

Authorities in Iran have jailed eight women and four men for up to six years on a charge of 'spreading prostitution and a Western-style culture of nudity'.

They were also banned from working in the fashion industry and barred from going abroad after being sentenced in the Iranian city of Shiraz.
They were accused of 'encouraging prostitution' and 'promoting corruption' by publishing 'obscene' online and spreading a 'Western-style culture of nudity' that was designed to corrupt Muslims, the court heard.
They face jail terms of between five months and six years but their lawyer, Mahmoud Taravat said his clients denied the charges and are planning to appeal.

UK politician, Michelle Thompson, moved colleagues to tears when she told them that she was raped at the age of 14 by a man she knew. She made this revelation in the House of Commons, telling them that the man who raped her was someone she knew and trusted and the incident occurred one evening when he offered to walk her home.

 "He told me he wanted to show me something in a wooded area and at that point, I must admit, I was alarmed. I did have a warning bell - but I overrode that warning bell because I knew him and therefore there was a level of trust in place.” The former professional musician recounted. She recalled walking home afterwards crying and in shock.

 As with most rape cases, Ms. Thompson said she told no one about it but kept it bottled up and she blamed herself for what had happened.

 "I felt I was spoiled and impure and really felt revulsion towards myself.”

She has now come to terms with the incident and bravely stated;

 “I am not a victim, I’m a survivor.”

Kanye West's personal physician is the one who called 911, warning the dispatcher Kanye was not violent but would become violent when police arrived to help him. Law enforcement sources tell us, the call came in as a male with mental illness.
Dr. Michael Farzam said his patient's name was "Jim Jones, 39 years old, 5'8", 175 lbs ... suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration."

According to the police report the doctor told cops he had placed Kanye on a 5150 psychiatric hold and wanted him taken to UCLA Medical Center. 

We're told there's an issue over whether the doctor actually placed Kanye on a 5150. The report goes on to say Dr. Farzam told police Kanye had attempted to assault a staff member at the gym. We're told Kanye was handcuffed to the stretcher because it's protocol when cops are told someone is on a 5150 hold.

Mother sues her transgender child for starting gender transition without her permission

A Minnesota mom, Anmarie Calgaro, is suing her 17 year old transgender child for starting gender transitioning treatment without her permission. Calgaro who filed the lawsuit in Minneapolis federal court Wednesday is also suing her child's doctors, public health and school officials in the suit. Calgaro claims the teen has been treated at a clinic in Minneapolis and is currently undergoing hormone therapy, to transition from male to female without parental consent. She claims her parental rights had been stripped from her.
She is demanding that all gender transitioning be stopped immediately!

In her complaint, she referred to her child as a male and used male pronouns but the teenager, who Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid says was declared legally emancipated under state law in June 2015, identifies as female and has said the relationship with Calgaro is estranged. A legal aid group helped the teenager get emancipated.

In a Medium post this afternoon, the Twitter-owned service that allowed users to create 6-second sharable loops of video said it soon would discontinue the app. Users will be able to download all the videos they created, and the Vine website will stay online, but the mobile app used to make Vines will be discontinued.

Vine seems to be a casualty of the problems Twitter is having as it tries to steady itself for a possible sale. But it was struggling even before this. After Twitter bought the service in 2012 and launched it in 2013, it garnered many devotees but never quite caught on in a huge way. Says The Verge:

It’s easy to let ego get in the way of business, but Jay Z is thinking twice before striking back. Turns out, Hova ‘can’t afford’ a nasty feud with Kanye West right now.

Jay Z, 46, isn’t exactly taking the high road on this Kanye West, 39, beef, but he is choosing the more financially responsible route!  “Jay Z is not planning on firing back at Kanye West, at least not publicly, because Jay only makes decisions that benefit him financially,” a source says “Above everything else, Jay Z is a businessman. Starting a war with his long-time friend, business partner, and fellow rapper can only cause financial problems.”

“Jay can’t afford to make Kanye any angrier,” the source continues. “Instead, if Jay says anything anytime soon, it will be to make peace, spread some love to Kanye and Kim and to squash the beef before it gets out of hand.” If you’re shocked by their sudden feud, let us remind you that they’ve butted heads in the past over multiple business deals, like their Watch The Throne album and the Tidal vs. Apple rivalry. Now, Kanye is pissed that Jay Z and Beyonce didn’t visit Kim Kardashian after the robbery.

Grandma Hears AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell” And Busts Out Some Dance Moves

Your grandma is cool, sure – but she’ll never be “gets down in public to AC/DC songs and becomes an overnight viral sensation” cool! Last weekend an elderly woman cruising through The Spree music festival in Paisley, Scotland just as local band Badboys were preparing to finish up their set for the day, closing out the Scottish music festival with AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell,” a nod to the band’s late frontman Bon Scott.

They expected the crowd to get excited, but what they didn’t expect was this tiny, elderly woman to stop her walker right in front of the stage and immediately start dancing, clapping and waving her arms about as she busted out some pretty sweet dance moves; viewers who either saw our new rock and roll heroine perform live or watched it via one of the many, many videos posted over the weekend were amazed, but no one was more amused than the guys in Badboys themselves.

“She was amazing and we couldn’t believe the moves that she was coming away with,” says Badboys bassist Billy Kinnear. “We were all shouting from the stage, ‘Look at her, she’s awesome!’ She stole the show.
With moves like that, she must have been a rocker back in the day. We’d love to know the gigs that she’s been to. It was such a great buzz. It made our day and everyone else’s.”

Two women accuse Trump of inappropriate touching

The Times reported that Jessica Leeds and Rachel Crooks each had encounters with Trump in which he groped or kissed them without their consent. One of the alleged incidents occurred in 2005, the other more than 30 years ago

 

The women chose to tell their stories after Trump told CNN's Anderson Cooper during the second presidential debate "no, I have not," when asked repeatedly did he ever "kiss women without consent or grope women without consent."

The Trump campaign issued a statement denying all the allegations, saying the reports were politically motivated.

"It is absurd to think that one of the most recognizable business leaders on the planet with a strong record of empowering women in his companies would do the things alleged in this story, and for this to only become public decades later in the final month of a campaign for president should say it all," said Jason Miller, a Trump spokesman.

The Head of Presidential Administration of Ukraine Ihor Rainin reported on the remaining threat of the destabilization of the situation in Kharkiv region. The state is paying a lot of attention to the region, according to Interfax Ukraine.
"If no measures are taken, then of course there exists a threat (of destabilization of the situation),” – he said on air of the 24 TV channel.
