Drake filmed “Please Forgive Me” during a secretive week-long visit to South Africa in June. He adopted a South African accent for the performance inspired by his anticipated album “Views,” which was released in April and has already sold more than 1.3 million copies.
During Drake’s trip to Johannesburg, throngs of fans flanked the former child actor during his visit to the Nelson Mandela Foundation headquarters where he shared an inspiring speech to admirers.
“I want to encourage you to do everything you can to make your future here as bright as you possibly can,” Drake said, as reported by the Times Live newspaper.
The credits of the film pays tribute to the Soweto Kliptown Youth Foundation whose volunteers helped in the making of “Please Forgive Me.”
